Once again the Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition will offer a special event for World Religion Day, on Sunday, January 15th, 2012, at Unity on Cape Cod, 147 Walton Avenue in Hyannis, 10 a.m. The theme chosen is: "When Faith is Challenged." Clergy and lay leaders from a variety of faith traditions will share challenging life events that ultimately made their faith even stronger.

An observance originated by the Baha'i Faith, World Religion Day has been celebrated annually since 1949 by communities around the world to foster religious harmony by emphasizing the common denominators underlying all faith traditions.  History shows that all religions have the power to instill fundamental spiritual truths and vital spiritual standards, establishing a unity of conscience and moving humanity towards greater cultures and civilizations.  This is the goal of our observance on January 15th.

Directions: From the mainland or Upper Cape: Take Route 6 (the Mid-Cape Highway) to Exit 6 (route 132 to Hyannis).  Proceed south on route 132 for 3 miles past the Cape Cod Mall, to the Barnstable rotary. Turn first right from rotary onto Route 28 (Falmouth Road) Proceed 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Walton Ave.  Unity on Cape Cod is 500 feet on the right. From Falmouth & Mashpee: Proceed on Route 28 north in Hyannis.  Walton Ave is on the right, approx 1/4 mile beyond Bearses Way; across from the Cape cod Mall.

From the Lower Cape, take Exit 7 off of the Mid-Cape Highway (Willow Street). Proceed south to route 28. Turn right and follow to the airport rotary. Take the third exit off of the rotary to Falmouth Road. Proceed 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Walton Ave.  Unity on Cape Cod is 500 feet on the right.
