January 25th is the date we are celebrating, because we wanted to have our full focus on World Religion Day. Since January 18th holds many Martin Luther King, Jr. observations, our Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition decided on the alternate date.
The topic for our event at the Unity Church of the Light in Hyannis , is "Religion at the Crossroads." Members of the Interfaith coalition will talk about a defining moment when their religious belief made them take the path they chose. There will be a rabbi, a Buddhist, a follower of Hinduism, a Lutheran minister, a Catholic Deacon, possibly a Moslem, and the representative of the Baha'i community. The entire event is going to be a celebration of how religion can be the cause of unity. This event was held last year at the Unity Church , as well, and the church members, Baha'is, and other religious communities are looking forward to it with great enthusiasm.
